Sometimes your brain replays conversations at night because it is trying to find safety in something that already happened.
It may search for what you said wrong, what someone meant, what you should have noticed, or what you could have done differently.
This does not mean you are weak or dramatic. It usually means your nervous system is still trying to finish processing something that felt uncertain, exposed, embarrassing, or emotionally important.
At night, there are fewer distractions. The mind has more room to bring unfinished emotional material to the surface.
The goal is not to fight every thought. The goal is to help your body understand that the moment has passed.
